Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Black
For quite a long period Sony Ericsson had been working on Xperia X10 phone. This was mainly due to the fact it was the first ever Android phone to that have been launched by Sony Ericsson. Unlike many other first generation droid phones Xperia X10 is here to stay. The phone offers large display of 480 x 854 pixels, 4.0 inches which is simply magnificent. It has some serious multimedia capabilities and offers an easy to use user interface. The availability of virtual keyboard would have been appreciated much more if it worked across all of the applications.
Xperia X10 is loaded with top-notch hardware to backup its software demands. Call quality is just somewhat adequate but the internet speed is very fast. In the first look the handset seems quite enormous but still that is what you actually expect from a touch screen Smartphone. The dimensions of the handset are 119 x 63 x 13 mm and it weighs 135 grams. The device is manufactured in a way to match the natural curves of the users hand but once you try to use it after placing it on a flat surface it starts to wobble. Overall the handset has a great finish and a sleek design. The users get three home screens which they crowd up with different apps and widgets.
Although being a very impressive handset it still has its weaknesses but hardly anyone one of them is a deal breaker. It does not support divX and XviD video playback, no smart dialing and voice dialing, no video calling, lacks free GPS solution, flash content is unavailable for the web browser, FM is missing, an 8 Megapixels camera could have used a flash and besides that the audio quality is not up to the mark. Although it runs version 1.6 of the Android but Sony Ericsson has promised that version 2.1 will be available for Xperia X10 in some point in future.
The TimeScape application joins all of your communication channels under one application. It shows an aggregated view of your SMS, email, call log, Facebook, MySpace and Twitter updates. TimeScape’s interface is very complicated and sometimes its updates fail to load and the strength of the data connection varies. The MediaScape application bring together all of the media content that can be used on the phone both local and online.
It is a brilliant device that holds a lot of promise but since it being the first attempt of Sony Ericsson in the Android phones some issues or problems can be expected. It has a strong 1Ghz processor and on top of that due to TimeScape and MediaScape connectivity capabilities to all of the social networks have never been so easy.
